To introduce Barcelona customers to all-things tuna, the culture around it, the possibilities it offers and tasting it, such is Tunateca Balfegó’s mission. Grup Balfegó – bluefin tuna fishing, feeding and selling – commissioned grup gsr to handle the opening of this first, multifaceted culinary venue dedicated to bluefin tuna. Covering 300sq metres, Tunateca Balfegó is a place for eating and learning. At the core of its two-fold menu — Japanese and Mediterranean – stars bluefin tuna “so that clients discover the range of possibilities each part of the fish offers”. Two chefs bring value and knowledge through their respective cuisines Hideki Matsuhisa (Koy Shunka*, Barcelona) with nigiris, sashimis, tartares or uramakis and Marc Miró (La Llotja, L’Ametlla de Mar), who combines tuna with Mediterranean ingredients.
