S.Pellegrino Young Chef is a global contest that recognises culinary talent for cooks under thirty years old. Since it began, grup gsr is in charge of organising and producing the Spanish and Portuguese contests. In the contest’s first stage, candidates under thirty years of age, are selected among cooks who have worked in restaurants as chef, sous-chef or chef de partie. The Italian institution ALMA chooses the 10 semi-finalists from regions throughout the world. These then compete by cooking a signature dish before a prestigious jury. The winner of the Iberian region competes along 21 young chefs in the world final in Milan. The production and coordination by grup gsr’s demanding Cookery Department, as well as a strong PR campaign, contribute to the success of this contest.
